I first read a book in high school because I loved the fantasy of a different time and country. I absolutely loved it and became a confirmed Anglophile, Regency romance, and especially Georgette Heyer fan! :D I was just messing around when I found this site. It's wondeful to find others who love her books as much as I do. ;-)

Well. I am very interested in GH Books, as a matter of fact I haven't read any yet. (lack of time)
It was just a question, a logical one indeed.

How sould someone answere the Quizes, if they have not read the books yet? And if they had read them, why should they want to win books they already have? Confused

Hello! i've fallen hard and fast for georgette heyer's books! I first read Sylvester and couldn't wait to get my hands on all the rest, i'm currently speeding my way through them all. It's true that all other romances pale in comparison (heyer and austen being the queens of the genre) I know her books will be a life-long love of mine!

What's wrong with the Competition Quiz July 2005? It's been saying for days that 75 of 1264 entries have scored 100%. I've entered several times and scored 100% at least twice. Why doesn't that show in the counting?

I fell in love with Georgette Heyer when I was about 13. My first story was Powder and Patch. I spent the next 15 yrs collecting all her books. I believe there is one for me to find that was only in print for a very short time as she did not like it. I loved her books then and 27 yrs later, I love them still. Very romantic and escapist....I love this site and will hope to visit often.

Regency Buck grabbed my attention when I was in high school and I found reading her novels immensely more enjoyable than doing homework. I have reread all of them over the years however after a lengthy gap I recently found my copy of the Nonesuch and that's spark my interest again! It was a pleasure to google her name and find such a lovely website devoted to her and her works.

I started loving Georgette Heyer when I was miserable at boarding school, and they'd still be my Desert Island book choice. When I grew up into a radical feminist I still loved GH, and wrote an appreciation of Jane Aiken Hodge's book for City Limits magazine in 1984 (she wrote a nice letter back) - I could probably find that article for the website if you like. Later my dear, recently deceased friend, the writer and teacher Asphodel Long, and I started a 'Georgette Heyer Appreciation Society'. It didn't last, but our love for the books did. This year I received Asphodel's collection as a legacy.

Hello you Heyer's lovers & admirers. Even if I'm from Italy, I know and love the British Georgette. What to say more than that has been already said about her wit, her elegance, her competence? I'm glad to find that so many people love her Ciao

I have just finished re-reading The Quiet Gentleman for the third time, and on the off-chance I typed 'Georgette Heyer' into Google Search, and found your website. Thank You! I will look out for Joan Aiken's book.
Best wishes,

I cannot tell you how happy I was to find your web-site. I began reading Heyer's books in my 20's and still love to revist them. I had often wondered about the author and was very pleased to see the wonderful bio that you have on the site.

Please keep up the good work!
